Basketball legend Michael Jordan has unveiled the latest version of his famous Air Jordan trainers - and this time he is going green. The eagerly-awaited Air Jordan XX3 is the first-ever basketball shoe to be made with sustainable materials as part of Nike's mission to protect the environment.
Trendy trainer-lovers will be walking on air when the funky black and red footwear goes on sale in Britain and the US on February 23, priced at about $185.
A limited edition of the Air Jordan in white, titanium grey and blue will be released first on January 25.
It will be sent to just 23 retailers and will cost about $230.
The Air Jordan XX3 is the 23rd edition of the Air Jordan and is extra-special as it matches Jordan's iconic number 23 jersey.
Nike launched the first Air Jordan trainers in 1985 and they instantly became a best seller.
A Nike spokesman said: "The Air Jordan XX3 continues the successful tradition by providing fans with a beautiful performance product that is lightweight, low to the ground, breathable, and maximizes comfort."
