Tom Cruise donated $5m to Scientology last year, but was beaten by Bart Simpson

Longtime Scientologist Tom Cruise donated a whopping $5 million to the religion last year. Scientology

But even his generous donation was beaten by Bart Simpson - or rather the woman who voices the little yellow cartoon character.

Nancy Cartwright gave the church a massive $10 million to help spread the word of fonder L Ron Hubbard.

The donation was all part of Scientology's Global Salvage effort, which aims to "de-aberrate" Earth - meaning to rid mankind of psychology ills and other "aberrant" behavior.

Surprisingly, Nancy, 50, forked over twice as much as the Scientology's most prominent member, Tom Cruise, gave his $5 million in an installment plan.

Nancy, like her fellow principal cast members on The Simpsons, has reportedly been earning $250,000 per episode since 2004, when her salary was upped from $125,000 per episode.

At 22 episodes per season, that makes for an annual paycheck of $5.5 million.

Actress Kirstie Alley matched Tom's donation but fellow actors John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston donated just a million each.

And the former Mrs. Elvis, Priscilla Presley, kicked in a much smaller donation of $50,000.

In 2004, Mission Impossible star Cruise was awarded a Platinum Meritorious Award for a $2.5 million gift. Two years later, he doled out another $2.5 million, for which the International Association of Scientologists kicked him up to Diamond Meritorious awardee.

Recent Scientology publications reveal that a host of A-list Scientologists were honored for their generosity at a black-tie awards ceremony at the church's headquarters in Clearwater, Florida last summer.

PageSix.com obtained copies of Impact magazine, which feature images of the various gold trophies, crystal statuettes and plaques "awarded to members who have donated" the respective amounts of money.

The Simpsons star Cartwright (above) appears in a photo at the event with Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige.

Here are some of the celeb gifts from 2007 and their corresponding rewards:
* Nancy Cartwright, 50, Patron Laureate Award: $10 million.
* Kirstie Alley, 57, Diamond Meritorious Award: $5 million.
* John Travolta, 53, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million.
* Kelly Preston, 45, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million.
* Priscilla Presley, 62, Patron Award: $50,000.
