TV crooner Bruce Forsyth has revealed the secret to his useful looks and bags of energy - a daily stretch exercise regime drawn up by Tibetan monks.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' host, who celebrates his 80th birthday next month, said: "When I married my darling, her mother gave me a book called The Fountain of Youth by Peter Kelder. He’d spent some time living with a group of Tibetan monks and was taught their exercise regimen.”
So, every day, when he gets out of bed around 6.30am, he does half-an-hour of stretching.
Then he has the same breakfast every day.
He told Britain's Hello magazine: "I have porridge every morning, winter and summer, with soya milk, raisins, cinnamon and dried blueberries. I’ll also have a half cup of coffee and then a cranberry juice mid-morning and another mid-afternoon.” Lunch is confined to fruit.
His wife prepares supper for 7pm - no later - accompanied by lots of vegetables. He limits himself to a couple of Jack Daniel’s whiskeys – and the occasional glass of Bruce’s Pink Panther, a cocktail made up of half an inch of cranberry juice and champagne.
Brucie, who has been married twice before and has five daughters as well as a 21 year son JJ from his 25 year marriage to former Miss World is also an accomplished catnapper.
"I’m a great cat-napper,” he says. “Always have been. I might get back from golf and wake up after two hours’ sleep, completely refreshed.”
