The search for the next American Idol continued to pick up pace on US TV last night with a whole host of odd auditions.
The first to hit the wrong note was Goth, Sarah Whitaker, 25 from Iowa, who boasted that she used to be a pro wrestler, wrestling under the name Lady Morgue.
After her audition, Simon told her: "I don't mean this rudely but you are really strange, Sarah. I can't imagine you at the end of the series singing that as the final song."
Sarah's audition failed with judges Simon and Randy, but she did get one vote from Paula, who admitted, she liked her style.
Another 'memorable' performer was Chris Bernheisel, a 24-year old from Fremont, Nebraska.
The self-confessed 'huge' Kelly Clarkson fan gave a dancing performance of her hit, 'Since You've Been Gone.'
Unfortunately for Chris his voice came up short, despite his best efforts, but he did manage to cut a deal with judge Simon Cowell.
Chris managed to get himself a presenting job as Idol's official red carpet correspondent on the local Nebraska channel that airs American Idol when it airs in May, after he gave Cowell a presenters audition after singing.
Simon told him: "You tell Fox 42 that we want to see you reporting at the final for them. And if they don't want you too, tell them to have a word with us. You have a deal."
