Midnight Celebrity: Kelly Osbourne doesn’t regret the mistakes she’s made

Kelly Osbourne has said she doesn't regret her mistakes because it's made her the person she is today.

The 23-year-old has had a turbulent few years, including a stint in rehab for painkiller addiction.

As a teenager the daughter of rocker Ozzy and TV personality Sharon was thrust into the limelight when cameras invaded her house to film The Osbournes.

But now she has cleaned up her act and has revealed her joy at finally hearing her parents say they are proud of her.

She said: "It was my mum and it came out of nowhere.

"We were going shoe shopping and I thought she was going to ask me to go and ask somebody to get her a different size of the shoe and she turned around and she said: 'Kelly, I'm so proud of you, you really have grown up'.

"It shocked me and it really threw me because it's something that I think every kid seeks, that approval from their parents.

"To finally hear it and to know they actually mean it I thought oh God now I've got a lot of responsibility. Can't let them down now, I've got no excuse."

Kelly said she was happy with the person she had finally become and wouldn't change the hiccups she's had along the way.

She said: "It took a lot of soul searching and a lot of mistakes and I think that you truly have to make mistakes in order to learn in life and unfortunately I had to do it in front of the whole world but it made me who I am and I like who I am, I know I'm not perfect.

"I wouldn't really call it reinvention, I would just call it growing up. I'm growing up, I'm learning and really just trying to figure out what it is I want to do.

"There are so many things that I want to do though and I'm still so young that I want to take my time and really think about it.

"And that's why I hate January and February because it's that time when you really reevaluate yourself."

Kelly also revealed that now Ozzy has a mobile phone he drives her "absolutely crazy" with constant calls and text messages but she admitted: "My mum can't text."

Kelly added that her dad was on fine form.

She said: "He's the healthiest I have seen him in so long. The happiest, the healthiest, I mean, he's doing so well.

"I don't think he wrote the song Iron Man for no reason, he pretty much is invincible."

Kelly also spoke of her loyalty to her family and her anger towards anyone who bad-mouths them. She said: "If anybody says anything about my brother or my sister or my mum I can't hold back.

"Because at the end of the day, as my mum said, all we have is each other because you can take your money, you can take your fame, you can take your possessions but you can't take blood, that's family."

Kelly was speaking to Richard and Judy to mark the launch her new show Project Catwalk.
