Heath Ledger's death has forced President George W. Bush to postpone the launch of a White House anti-drugs campaign. The president was due to make a statement in the Roosevelt Room to launch the campaign aimed at preventing the abuse of prescription drugs.
Police have said that prescription and non-prescription sleeping drugs were found near the body of Ledger in his Manhattan apartment.
Now the White House press secretary says they have put back the long-scheduled event out of sensitivity.
"We thought it would be better to postpone the event rather than run the risk of anyone thinking that we were being opportunistic in highlighting the issue," Dana Perino said.
