TROUBLED singer Amy Winehouse showed her softer side as she returned from a Caribbean break with friends. The pop star, whose husband Blake Fielder is behind bars in the UK, went to the island of Mustique for a week at singer Bryan Adam's mansion. And it would seem the break did her a world of good.
Despite reports that she had spent the entire period moping, she was all niceness as she stopped off at Barbados' international airport to get her flight back to the UK.
She chatted happily with fans and posed for photographs by the check-in desks. Speaking to one, she again mentioned she would like to renew her wedding vows with Fielder "but he is in jail".
Then, while at a members' lounge awaiting her flight, she relaxed with a much softer substance than she is usually associated with - a cup of hot chocolate. She even took a snooze on a sofa before posing for more pictures.
It was a huge change from a week earlier, when, on coming through the airport on her way to nearby Mustique, she was dismissive of fans.
And it is a world away from the desolate pictures - some showing her in tears, wearing a bra and with a white substance in her nose - that have hit the press in recent months.
However, she couldn't help but show off her bright pink bra again. Lounge visitors said the singer changed tops in full view of everyone, giving them an eyeful of her now well-known undergarment.
After the week-long break, spent with a friend and apparently his parents, she returned to London, where loved ones hope she will try to kick her habits.
Husband Blake Fielder is currently on remand in Pentonville Prison awaiting trial.
