Scarlett Johansson to present a Brit award

Scarlett JohanssonShe's set to boost the morale of U.S soldiers later this year - and now, actress Scarlett Johansson is set to present a gong at this year's prestigious Brit Award ceremony.

The 'Lost in Translation' actress has been confirmed to present award - and has even been invited to perform at the bash which takes place on February 20.

Scarlett, 23, is reportedly Recording an album of Tom Waits cover songs - titled Scarlett sings Tom Waits - with Rhino Records in the US. So Brit Awards bosses are pulling out all the stops to persuade her to sing one of the tracks at London's Earls Court.

An award show insider said: "Scarlett has tentatively agreed to sing and is definitely presenting a Brit. It would be a real treat."

This will be a great coup for the Brits; for years, they have struggled to find decent, talented women to perform on the show - but this year, we're not short of talent, with the likes of  Leona Lewis, Kate Nash and KT Tunstall all competing in Best British Female category. Kylie is also up against Rihanna and Alicia Keyes for Best International Singer.

And Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse will be there alongside rising stars Adele and Duffy. The Spice Girls may not have been nominated for anything despite reforming for their big tour.
