Sacha Baron Cohen wins ‘Borat’ teacher case

BoratVictory for Borat!!!

Sacha Baron Cohen has won the first legal battle in a lawsuit brought against him for his bumbling Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev.

Etiquette teacher Kathie Martin unwittingly appeared in the hit Borat movie, which went on to take more than $200m at the box office.

The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that the state is not the place for Martin's lawsuit against Cohen.

The judge ruled that Martin had signed an agreement stating that only courts in New York could hear the dispute. But Cohen's legal battles are far from over.

He is still facing action from South Carolina students, a Maryland driving instructor, Romanian villagers, and a businessman seen running away from Borat as he tried to hug him.

Cohen has said that the success of the comedy has forced him to kill of the Borat character.
