The Beatles legend sparked controversy on BBC's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross when he said he rarely visited the city where he was born.
"Is there anything you miss about not being in Liverpool any more?" asked Jonathan Ross.
After suppressing a laugh, Ringo answered: "No.
"I love Liverpool. I was child. I grew up in Liverpool. Family members are in Liverpool but no, I don't miss anything about it."
But he said: "I had a great time. I loved it there over the weekend."
Ringo, whose new album Liverpool 8 is available to buy on a state-of-the-art USB wristband, also revealed that he is a technophobe.
The Surrey-based musician said he owned a mobile phone - but refused to carry it.
He said: "I have a computer in three countries but I don't do email because people keep emailing you then you spend your life reading and answering them.
"I have a mobile phone but I don't text."
Jonathan teased: "Give me the number. I'll text you after the show for a treat."
"No, because I never carry it. You're not going to text me or get my number," he insisted.
Ringo also lifted the lid on working with his hero, movie legend Marlon Brando in 1968 film Candy. "He was incredible and we became friendly for the two weeks we were together," he said.
"He was so good. We were having this lunch and he was coming to the lunch, I was so excited as he's a hero of mine. He'd do that Marlon stuff.
"He'd grab the spoon and be looking at the spoon, and we'd be like 'oh he's looking at the spoon'."
