Joaquin Phoenix couldn't spell his own name at the Peoples Choice Awards. His name has always been difficult to say but this proves even Joaquin himself struggles with it.
The 'Walk The Line' star misspelled his name 'Joaqin' on a piece of cardboard as part of an acceptance speech for last night's 'People's Choice Awards' in L.A.
The normally glamorous event was cut down to pre-taped speeches because of the two-month-old Writers Guild of America strike in Hollywood.
Joaquin took things a step further by refusing to speak during his acceptance speech for favourite leading man.
Instead he held up cards with his words.
They said: "Hi. Im Joaqin [sic].
"Im speechless. Without the writers. Seriously.
"But in my own quiet way. I want to thank the millions of fans.
"That voted for me for favourite leading man."
The strike-friendly show was a scaled down awards ceremony without a live audience.
Instead of celebs walking the red carpet, crews delivered trophies to music, film and television stars on location.
Robin Williams accepted his award for favorite funny male while on tour with the the U.S. Army in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey received his award for favorite male TV star while at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach.
Katherine Heigl won best female TV star at the premiere of her new movie '27 Dresses.'
And Daniel Radcliffe won an award for best movie drama for 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' on the set of the new Harry Potter film.
