No criminal charges were filed against Diddy after last year's showdown, but the victim, Gerard Rechnitzer filed suit in Los Angeles.
Rechnitzer is claiming that the 'Bad Boy For Life' star was hitting on his girlfriend during a glitzy party at Teddy's in the Roosevelt Hotel. When Rechnitzer tried to escort his gal away, Combs allegedly clobbered him, saying, "I'll smack flames out of your ass."
Court documents filed last week detail statements given by witnesses to the bust up.
"I just kind of remember seeing [Rechnitzer] go flying, not flying as in like feet off the ground, but he went back significantly," Marianna Ruiz, a witness, said in her deposition.
"I was just in shock that somebody would just kind of strike somebody out of nowhere."
Witness Michael Sherman confessed: "All of a sudden, [Diddy] hit him. And there was a taxi behind Gerard. Gerard got knocked into the taxi."
Rechnitzer, 27, is seeking unspecified damages in the suit. Prosecutors declined to press charges.
Sean Combs' lawyer wrote in court papers filed Wednesday that his client "is no way legally responsible for what happened to Rechnitzer" and branded the suit "completely baseless."
