British actress Martine McCutcheon has revealed she moved back to Britain because LA was too brutal. The former Eastenders star, 31, spent a year in the US after the success of the 2003 film Love Actually and signed up to a TV show which never made it to air.
She revealed: "Los Angeles is brutal! Even Cameron Diaz is old hat now. Once you do three movies, you're over."
She added to Britain's Closer magazine: “I can see why Kate Winslet still likes to spend time in the UK - LA isn't the real world.
"It wasn't a godsend for my career but I got the chance to take stock. I grew up a lot in that year."
