Madonna defends her charity

MadonnaPop superstar Madonna has jumped to the defense of her charity after reports surfaced that she had tricked the likes of of Gucci into giving money to Kabbalah under the guise of supporting Malawian children.

The 'Material Girl' singer, 49, has called the accusations that her charity, Madonna's Raising Malawi organization gives money to an L.A Kabbalah center "outrageous, incorrect, inaccurate, hurtful and malicious."

Gucci is set to foot the bill to a lavish Feb. 6 fundraiser for the charity - with A-listers like Sarah Jessica Parker and Salma Hayek set to attend.

"The reality is - and it's never been a secret - that the Raising Malawi organization was co-founded by Madonna and Michael Berg, who is one of the spearheading executives of the Kabbalah organization. The Raising Malawi organization is completely separate from the Kabbalah, and they are run as two separate organizations," Liz Rosenberg explained to Women's Wear Daily. "Accountability will be very clear and very specific, and all funds will be accounted for."

But Rosenberg did confirm that Raising Malawi, which the millionaire singer - who turns 50 later this year, started after adopting David Banda from the country in 2006, has paid for Malawian teachers to be trained in Kabbalah.
