Angelina Jolie's estranged father is delighted the actress is pregnant - if the rumours are true. Actor Jon Voight said it would be "wonderful" if she is to become a mother again. But he admits his only source of information is what he reads in the papers.
He said: "It's wonderful news that she's having another child, if that's true."
Voight, 69, added: "I can't count on anything the press says about her because there is so much said, but she has certainly captured the imagination of the press."
Voight and his 32-year-old Tomb Raider star daughter have not spoken in years.
They fell out when he told a US TV show in 2002 that he hoped she would seek help for her "serious emotional problems". It was reported last week that Jolie is expecting twins with partner Brad Pitt.
The rumours were fuelled when she turned up to Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild [SAG] Awards in Los Angeles in a flowing, billowy dress to hide her figure.
She also reportedly snubbed alcohol at glitzy bash - opting instead for lime-infused water.
The actress has so far refused to comment on the rumours.
Midnight Cowboy star Voight made his comments as he traveled with US Presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani in Florida, the New York Observer reports.
