Actress Jessica Alba has told of her shock at seeing her body change when she fell pregnant.
The Fantastic Four beauty struggled at first when she put on weight. But she said she doesn't care what she looks like.
She said: "You go, 'What's happening?'
"You definitely have to go with the flow. You have to surrender, but it's a shock to the system. But it's a shock to a system.
"Again, I've never been one to emphasize anything on my looks or anything.
"It was just the polls, the magazines, they do it. It was never my thing. So I really don't care."
The actress also admitted she had struggled in the early stages of her pregnancy. She added: "It wasn't like morning sickness, it was all-day sickness."
But Alba, 26, also told US television programme The Today Show that she was delighted about becoming a mother. She said: "I've always loved kids, wanted kids; it's kind of perfect.
"I feel really blessed.
"I feel really lucky. This is the best time ever.
"It's the best year."
New horror flick The Eye starring Alba as a woman whose eye transplant lets her see into a supernatural world is out later this week in the US.
Alba also said she may take a break from Hollywood blockbusters after she gives birth. She said: "I might go more indie for a while - do more character-driven stuff for a while."
Alba, who hid her bump at the recent Sundance Film Festival in Utah, remained mum on her wedding to fianc? Cash Warren.
It has been previously reported that Alba doesn't want to look pregnant in a wedding dress. "I've thought about it," she said of tying the knot. "I've thought about it, yeah."
