Britney Spears' aunt has spoken out about the troubled singer's recent hospital drama - and fears the former pop princess will end up killing herself. Chanda McGovern, who used to be married to Britney and Jamie Lynn's uncle, and is mother to their 11-year-old cousin, Miranda, spoke about her concerns about both Britney & her 16-year-old pregnant niece Jamie Lynn Spears.
In a new interview McGovern says she is worried about Britney and indicates that the 26-year-old mother-of-two is suicidal, saying, "I'm afraid she's going to take her own life."
She added: "She needs real psychological help before she can move forward."
Chanda also said that 'Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn "made some bad choices," but has a good head on her shoulders and "can be a good mother." She criticized former sister-in-law Lynn for not being able to handle two problems at once ("her focus is on Jamie Lynn, but she needs to multitask"), and sends personal messages to each of her nieces, telling Britney, "you can only go up from here."
Britney was thrust into the spotlight in spectacular fashion last week, after she was hospitalized on Thursday night. The troubled singer was restrained and rushed to the Cedar's Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, with cops suspecting she was under the influence of drugs.
The LA Police Department were called after Britney locked herself in the bathroom with youngest son Jayden James and refused to hand him over to ex-hubby Kevin Federline.
On Friday the singer was stripped of her rights to visit her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are living with Federline. The order will remain in place until another hearing when the custody battle continues on January 14th.
