Singer Ashlee Simpson has fueled speculation that she is engaged to her boyfriend, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, after the couple were seen getting 'heavy' at a New Year's Eve party at Miami's Shore Club. According to PageSix.com, Ashlee, 23, flaunted a simple band on her left ring finger. Then, on New Year's Day, she was seen showing off a substantial ring with even greater flair, prompting rumors that the couple are engaged.
Rumors were rife in July last year that the couple were to tie the knot, but at the time, her rep denied the speculation. But the cosy pair have been seen together since early 2007, and in February, Pete told Rolling Stone magazine: “Maybe in a different universe, we'd be some hot couple, but not in this one."
However, in April they were spotted holding hands and making out at nightclub Parc in L.A.
