Amy Winehouse to duet with Mark Ronson

Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse and Mark Ronson have been spending a fair amount of time together recently - and now we know why.

Ronson and Winehouse - who worked together on the hugely successful hit single Valerie, have been busy working on new material.

And the pair are even plotting to duet on Valerie at this year's Brits on February 20.

A source revealed: "Amy adores the song, but although she sings it at all her shows, she and Mark have never done it together. Amy can't wait."

The duet means that despite the 24-year-old 'Rehab' star not being eligible to be nominated for any awards, she will still be at the Brits thanks to Mark, who is up for three gongs.

The source adds to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Amy was queen of the Brits last year and there was a real desire to see her at this year's ceremony. But when she couldn't even be nominated, all hope slipped away - until Mark begged her to be a part of proceedings.

"Amy's the artist that everyone wants to see. Organisers are over the moon that it looks set to happen, especially live on ITV in front of millions."

The troubled singer - whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently locked up in London's Pentonville prison, has been throwing herself into her music of late, and last week she and Mark - who has worked with Lily Allen and Robbie Williams in the past, spent last weekend locked away in West London's K-West hotel, working on new songs well into the early hours. We hear she now has enough material for a third album.

A source close to the singer adds: "Amy's had her ups and downs, but she's utterly focused on making a great new record. She's always drawn on life experiences when it comes to writing songs and the new album is set to be her most heartfelt yet. Record bosses are giving her all the time in the world for what will no doubt be another classic."
