Amy Winehouse was "shocked" into rehab by a top executive at her record label, it has been claimed.
Amy's boss, Lucian Grange at Universal Music Group (UMG) reportedly used "shock tactics to prove to the troubled star she has a serious drugs problem.
Grange presented the 24-year-old soul diva with a huge collection of newspaper cuttings from around the world documenting her downfall.
A source at UMG said: |"Lucian got his international marketing manager to find and copy every piece of press from around the world. It took the guy two days.
"Lucian then laid everything out in his huge office and summoned Amy. He told her to have a good look, then tell him she hasn’t got a problem with drugs.
"It did the trick."
The singer - famous for the lyrics "They tried to make me go to rehab I said no, no, no," is now under psychiatric surveillance in a central London hospital after checking in to the clinic on Thursday night.
Pal Kelly Osbourne paid a visit to lift her spirits a few hours after she settled in.
