Little girl survives screwdriver in head

Skrewdriver in headLittle Teagon Gislason laughs as she plays like any other happy toddler.

But these shocking x-rays show how lucky she is to be alive after a SCREWDRIVER was lodged in her head.

Teagon's family were convinced that their toddler would die when the saw the screwdriver stuck in her head just above her right eye. "She was gone," dad Neil Gislason said of "losing it" when he saw his girl.

"She was a goner."

Yet amazingly Teagon only has a black eye and a scar above the left eye as a reminder of the accident in Rochester, Minnesota. "She's our Christmas miracle," mum Katie said, fighting back tears.

Doctors say that neither her brain nor her left eye will be permanently damage, with the scar being the only permanent reminder she will have.

But they insist it would be a very different story had it hit her head just an inch away from where it struck.

Teagon had found the screwdriver in a local church while playing with other kids. She ran around with it - and then fell, with the tool lodging in her head. "No one saw anything," he father said.

"No one saw her pick it up, nobody saw her fall. I don't really know how it went in."

It took doctors four hours to extract the tool from the child's head. "I'm still so floored - I cannot believe that's what it was," her mother said.
