Madonna wants to adopt a girl from Cambodia

MadonnaMulti-millionaire pop legend Madonna wants to adopt a girl from Cambodia, it has been revealed.

The 'Material Girl' singer - who's due to celebrate her 50th birthday next year, has sent aides to hunt for a new daughter in the poor Asian country.

The singer is believed to have chosen Cambodia after being impressed by Angelina Jolie's adoption of Maddox, six, from the country in 2002.

Madge was also frustrated by the barriers involved in her adoption of two-year-old David Banda from Malawi. That adoption is still waiting to be formalized.

Madonna has an 11-year-old biological daughter - Lourdes by a former lover, and son Rocco, 7, by Guy.

Social welfare officer Simon Chisale said that baby Banda “had bonded well with the Ritchies” and that it will not be “in the best interest of David” to be taken away from his new life.

According to reports from British newspaper The Sun, Mr Chisale also witnessed how David enjoyed a happy and relaxed relationship with Madonna and Guy and “enjoyed being cuddled”.

His relationship with the 'Snatch' director was particularly noted as being “warm, playful interaction”, whilst Madonna was seen as a “confident and able parent”.

Chisale's report clears the way for the adoption of David to officially go through possibly by next April.

Madonna originally looked at Malawi for a girl. But a pal said: “Malawi is bound up in red tape and she hopes that Cambodia will be easier.”
