It has been one of the most bitter divorce battles of all time - but the Hoff's hassles are finally over. Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and ex-wife Pamela Bach have ironed out the remaining details on their split.
The pair agreed on spousal and child support payments, and will share custody of their daughters Taylor Ann, 17, and Hayley, 15.
The divorce settlement was agreed at a Los Angeles court on Friday - one week after they would have celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary. "I'm pleased that everything is resolved and I am very proud of my daughters who have remained strong and exhibited dignity during this very difficult time," Hasselhoff told celebrity news website TMZ.com. "We are all moving on."
Bach and her lawyers were unavailable for comment, but her former lawyer Mark V. Kaplan said he was "delighted" to hear of the resolution. "I'm glad for her, I'm glad for David and I'm glad for the kids that they all have this high-conflict matter behind them," he said.
While Bach, 44, attended Friday's hearing, Hasselhoff, 55, participated by phone. Terms of the settlement concerning Bach's requests for more spousal and child support were not made available, but the Hoff's lawyer Melvin Goldsman said he would be preparing a judgment for the judge's approval.
In June, the former Baywatch actor was granted sole legal and primary physical custody of Taylor Ann and Hayley.
Goldsman said improved relations between Hasselhoff and Bach led to the revised arrangement. In a further show of goodwill, Hasselhoff has also elected to allow Bach to remain in the Encino home they once shared until it is sold.
He had earlier insisted that she vacate the premises, but has since had a change of heart. The couple wed in December 1989. Hasselhoff filed for divorce in January 2006 and the split was made official seven months later.
During the divorce battle, there was no love lost between Hasselhoff and Bach. While he accused her of being drunk, taking cocaine and screaming obscenities at him down the phone, Bach said he beat her, had the sex disease Herpes when they married and was so drunk he regularly wet himself.
In May this year a video of a drunk Hasselhoff, filmed by one of his daughters, was leaked to entertainment shows in the US. Shortly after its release, the TV star was awarded custody of their two daughters, much to his wife's disappointment.
The divorce has no doubt been costly for Hasselhoff, who had already doled out an estimated $1 million in legal fees for his own bills, as well as some of Bach's, as of September, according to Goldsman.
