Michael Parkinson: The most overrated talk show host ever?

Michael Parkinson is the most overrated talk show host ever. It's not even a question. It's a fact. The wily old interviewer died years ago together with the original talk show format. I think only Paul O'Grady loves 'his' guests. Yes, if you don't have Sir David Frost or Judi Dench, the show is not allowed to run.

He speaks with a stutter, walks with a limp, good ol' Parkie has been pleasing the public for years, but was that him? No, it was Emu the Puppet giving him a worthwhile bite. Where did Rod Hull go?

Ultimately, Parkinson has become a national heritage, mostly because it was on a public service broadcaster, the BBC, so it doesn't have to instantly please viewers. However, in its hay day in the 1970s, Middle-Aged Michael did just thatsomehow.

Nowadays, his stutters have become almost too unbearable, and when you watch it, all you can here is his 'cringeworthy' (to say the least) Jazz music with his surrogate son Jamie Cullum or Michael Buble covering a Westlife song.

So, if you watched the last ever show, just remember, this lad is overrated. Rant over!
