R&B star Mary J. Blige has revealed she wants to do more acting. The 36-year-old singer, who appeared in TV shows Entourage and Ghost Whisperer this year, says she is looking for a dramatic role that suits her.
But the No More Drama star has vowed never to make her own reality show because she would find it "crazy" and "weird".
Mary J, whose new album Growing Pains has just hit shelves, made her acting debut in 1998 on The Jamie Foxx Show. She most recently guest-starred on America's Next Top Model, as a creative director for one of the photoshoots.
The songstress now says she wants to do more TV work, with dramatic rather than comedic roles.
"I want to keep doing it. I've got scripts, but it seems the scripts aren't scripts for Mary J Blige's acting career," she told US music show TRL."When the right one falls in my lap I'm going to nail it."
Asked if she would consider doing her own reality show, Mary J burst out laughing. "I would never do that," she said. "The thought of cameras following me round and watching me wake up and go to sleep is crazy and weird to me."
She also revealed she had been in the running to record Rihanna's hit record Umbrella - but lost out to the young star. "I didn't turn it down - I lost it," she confessed.
"I would never have turned that record down. Are you kidding me?
"That is an amazing record and she did a phenomenal job. She looked so incredible in the video. I'm a Rihanna fan."
