British pop star Lily Allen is pregnant with her first child, it has been revealed. The 22-year-old 'Smile' singer found out she was expecting last month, but only revealed the news to her family.
According to reports, Lily & her boyfriend Ed Simons, 32, of the electronic music duo Chemical Brothers are delighted.
A source close to the singer said: “Lily is thrilled to be pregnant and can’t wait to become a mum. She’s a real family person.
“Ed’s very happy. He is really looking after her.”
In the past, Lily - who's currently in the charts with her hit single 'Oh My God', where she works alongside NY producer Mark Ronson, has made no secret of her desire to start a family.
The source added: “Lily could not be happier.
“It’s the icing on the cake for what has been an incredible 18 months for her. She is looking forward to finishing her new album early next year and releasing it before the birth of her first child.”
Lily is also expecting to follow in the footsteps of Welsh singer & Television presenter Charlotte Church, 22, and branch out into TV in between releasing albums, reports The Sun.
The BBC have signed Lily to front her own TV show Lily Allen and Friends. She is also joining comedian Russell Brand, 32, for a spoof cinema version of classic novel Pride and Prejudice.
