Brad Pitt makes New Year’s resolution to get rid of his flat cap

Brad Pitt has made a New Year's resolution to get rid of his flat cap.

The star says he will stop wearing the newsboy cap in 2008.

The cap has been a constant fixture on the bighearted actor's head as he has been campaigning to restore houses in the hurricane devastated U.S. city of New Orleans.

"I'll be getting rid of it in about a week or so - I'm getting rid of it I promise," said the star.

The actor told the Regis and Kelly show that he would be spending Christmas  Day with Angelina Jolie and their brood of four children Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, who turns 3 next month, and Shiloh, 19 months.

Brad said: "The Jolie-Pitts will be in one large assembly and Angelina and I will probably be wearing referee shirts and controlling the mob!"
