Billie Piper bans children from her wedding

Billie PiperBillie Piper has infuriated her fiance's family by banning children from her New Year's Eve wedding.

The parents of the 25-year-old Doctor Who star are reportedly behind the move when she ties the knot with Gosford Park star Laurence Fox, 29.

According to Britain's Mirror newspaper, Laurence's uncle Robert Fox, a producer, is said to be particularly annoyed after being told his youngest children will not be welcome at the event at Cowdray Park Estate, West Sussex.

A friend said: "Robert is very upset and has made his opinions known.

"The Fox family think weddings should be about having children around.

"The bride's family obviously don't want screaming kids in the church but the whole thing has gone down like lead balloon."

And the the Reverend Derek Welsman, 42, who is to conduct the service at St Mary's, said that former pop star Billie has told him that she and Fox would like the wedding to be an unpretentious event, purely about celebrating their love with their close friends and family.

Reverend Welsman said: "Billie is very excited, no doubt. It will be a traditional wedding - a traditional village outing - that is what they want."

He added that Billie is 'bubbly' with nerves and anticipation as the day approaches, and had confessed that she wanted to show Laurence the wedding dress she has picked out - understood to be pretty and traditional - but that Laurence had told her not to.

"He felt it was inappropriate to see," he said.

Reverend Welsman continued: "They are a fantastic couple who are very close and supportive of each other. They work in a very tough industry. They support each other, not only in their work, but also from the media pressure that surrounds them. I'm sure it will be a great day."
