Britney Spears’ ex-assistant denies breaking down door

Britney Spears and Alli SimsBritney Spears' former assistant Alli Sims has denied involvement in rescuing the troubled singer during her breakdown last night, it has been revealed.

It was originally reported by PageSix.com that Alli had used "brute force to pry the singer out of the bathroom where she had barricaded herself with son Jayden James late last night."

But Sims has hit out at the claims, telling Us Weekly magazine: "I absolutely was not there. And even if I was there I would not have banged down the door with a hammer, that's not my style. I would have knocked!"

Meanwhile, Britney Spears' mum, Lynn Spears has asked her daughter's fans to pray for the troubled 'Toxic' singer.

She said by telephone today: "Just say prayers."

US celebrity TV show Access Hollywood revealed: "Lynn was extremely distraught, crying on the phone."

Spears, 26, was reportedly on suicide watch today after being admitted to hospital in Los Angeles late on Thursday night.

She has been placed on lockdown for a mental evaluation after the pop star locked herself in a room with one of her children at her Los Angeles home and refused to hand him over
