BRITISH actress Anna Friel has landed a lead role in comedy superstar Will Ferrell's new film, it has been reported. The 31-year-old recently raised her profile in the US after her quirky drama Pushing Daisies became one of the critics' favorite new TV shows of last year's line-up.
Now she has followed it up with a role in Land of the Lost, a big screen remake of the 70s sci-fi TV series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Starring box office sensation Will Ferrell, it could well be a one of the biggest hits yet for Friel.
She will play the romantic interest for Ferrell's character, a disgraced paleontologist who finds himself in a strange prehistoric world.
Friel will next appear in Goal 3, the final chapter in the football film trilogy.
