Prince Harry's long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy was left on the edge of her seat yesterday -- after it was revealed in the media her 23-year-old boyfriend had been serving in Afghanistan since December -- but the Prince, who is third in line to throne -- was quick to make a reassuring phone call.
"She was so worried when his location was revealed unexpectedly," a source said "The worst kind of things had been going through her mind."
News outlets across the globe participated in a reporting embargo on Harry's deployment -- but the news was widely reported after an item appeared on US website the Drudge Report.
Before the Prince, a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, left the warn the war-torn country, he called Davy to reassure her that he was safe.
"It was one of the happiest and emotional moments of her life," the source tells Us Weekly. "She was in a state of ecstasy and tears. Honestly, the things she had been thinking in the hours running up to that moment. All she wants now is to see him again – it's been such a long time."
