Singer Rihanna has introduced boyfriend Chris Brown to her parents on a visit to her native Barbados to celebrate winning her first Grammy. Then the love-struck R & B stars jetted to the neighboring Caribbean island of Jamaica for a romantic weekend at an exclusive hotel.
The couple, who had previously insisted they were just good friends, were seen cavorting in the hotel's swimming pool.
"They were smooching in the pool," said one fellow bather. "They were playfully making out and he was kissing her on the neck."
Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, sat next to Brown at a concert thrown in her honor in Barbados last Thursday evening. "He's a very nice guy," said Mr Fenty. "They were very happy and relaxed and having fun."
Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, wore a daring low-cut yellow dress, while Brown opted for jeans, a black t-shirt and a red beanie hat. "They were whispering in each other's ears and obviously enjoying each other's company," said a witness.
Rihanna, who has just turned 20, was greeted at the island's airport by Prime Minister, David Thompson, who made her an honorary cultural ambassador for the island. She was serenaded by youngsters clutching yellow umbrellas, in honor of her hit single, Umbrella.
On Saturday morning, the couple flew to Jamaica so Rihanna could perform at the Smile Jamaica Africa Unite Bob Marley concert. But they made the most of their time together, chilling out in and around their hotel pool.
Brown, who has a new single, With You, due to be released next month, will be in London for sell-out shows at the O2 Arena throughout March.
Only two weeks ago, after he was spotted getting close to Rihanna at a Grammey's after-party, Brown insisted they were just friends. "We're just friends We hang out," he said.
But two days later they were spotted walking hand-in-hand into a private room at L.A. hot spot Les Deux to celebrate Rihanna's 20th birthday party.
