James Blunt praises Prince Harry's deployment to Afghanistan as he performs on US television.
You're Beautiful singer Blunt, a former Army captain, said he wasn't surprised at the news the Royal had been sent to the war zone.
He said: "He's a regular soldier like the rest of them and it's a good thing that he should at least be trying to do his bit to bring a bit of peace and stability to that country."
He added: "It's a really interesting time in the world.
"I guess we focus so much on the tabloid and celebrity culture when actually there are so many things we should be dealing with at the moment, and a few wars that are going on around the world really do need our attention."
Blunt, 34, is currently on tour in the US.
He added: "It has been great fun - on a bus with five hairy, very smelly men.
"And we're enjoying it. We've been looked after very well while we've been here in the States."
Blunt performed new single Carry You Home on Good Morning America on Friday.
Prince Harry was today set to be immediately withdrawn from Afghanistan after a media blackout on his secret deployment to the war-torn region was broken by a US website.
