Katie Holmes turned to Kanye West for marathon support

Katie HolmesKatie Holmes told a US chat show host that Kanye West helped her get through her grueling New York marathon run.

Holmes, 29, told David Letterman on his US chat show that she listened to the rapper's recent smash hit single 'Stronger' on repeat to help her advance to the finish line.

Holmes said: "I listened to Kanye West's 'Stronger' for the last hour of the run and that helped me mentally in finishing the race."

Holmes ran and completed the New York Marathon in 5:29:58 in November last year.

The former Dawson's Creek star also admitted that she wouldn't stop daughter Suri from entering the world of acting.

She said: "She's very smart, she's already talking a lot. You can see she is already a wonderful artist. Whatever she wants to do, if she wants to act, then yeah, if not, whatever."

Holmes rose to fame as Joey Potter in teen drama Dawson's Creek from 1998 to 2003.

The star can be currently seen starring alongside screen legend Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah in crime movie 'Mad Money.'
