Davina McCall has put an end to the rumour she is quitting Big Brother. The bubbly TV presenter said she definitely won't hang up her microphone unless she is axed. "Over my dead body," she said.
"Some of these things, I don't know where they get it from but I suppose I should be flattered that they keep writing about me."
She also denied she had been offered jobs in America. "I haven't been offered anything in America and I wouldn't leave Big Brother unless they asked me to," she said. "I love that programme, I feel like it's my baby."
After presenting the show for eight years, Davina, 40, then revealed why she loves the reality show so much. "I think I get addicted because it's my job to watch it," she said.
"Somebody said to me once 'oh you actually watch it you don't get somebody to brief you?' and I said 'I have to watch it because I need to know everything about it'.
"It's an involuntary thing, I defy anyone to watch the first week and not get addicted, you cannot help yourself.
"It would be like watching a month's worth of EastEnders and then saying you don't want to watch the next week, you just want to know what happens next."
She also revealed that Celebrity Big Brother will be back on our screens, despite the infamous race row between Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty in the last series.
"It's coming back, or they say it's coming back, next January," she said on Richard and Judy. "They just wanted to rest it for a year, let the dust settle and the intention was to bring it back.
Meanwhile, TV host Richard Madeley has revealed the Richard and Judy show will end for good in September. "We are doing this series then we are doing another series after that which takes us up to autumn and then we are stopping this entire series," he said.
But he confirmed that he is not retiring from TV along with partner Judy Finnegan. "We are not retiring, we are just going to do other stuff."
The popular daytime chat show has run since 2001.
