Britney Spears spends just 14 minutes with Kevin Federline’s lawyer

Britney SpearsTroubled former pop princess Britney Spears missed her re-scheduled court deposition as part of her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline yesterday - and then almost threw up.

But she managed to show for latest round of quizzing - but was so late, it had to be re-scheduled anyway.

According to reports, the 26-year-old 'Toxic' star left her home in Beverly Hills around 10:15 a.m, and then was photographed driving around for half-an-hour with her assistant Carla - when she should have been answering questions under oath about her past drug and alcohol use and her general parenting skills.

Brit's actions have now resulted in her legal team, Trope and Trope, filing a request to be removed from her custody case - citing a 'breakdown in communications' with the singer. "There has been a breakdown in communications between (Britney) and Trope and Trope making further representation of her interests impossible," Tara Scott of the firm wrote.

Attorney Sorrell Trope was Britney's third lawyer in the custody case.

Today, Britney - who reportedly spent New Year cosying up to her favorite paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, arrived at the LA office of Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan - but was an hour and a half late. Which left just 14 minutes for the interview - so yet another date has been set.

In a press conference following the deposition, Kaplan confirmed that the proceedings eventually began at 11:32am and ended at 11:45am. "Fourteen minutes is not a lot of time to develop a line of questions," Kaplan, who surprisingly described Britney as "cooperative," explained. He also told reporters that there is a second day already scheduled for further deposing of the pop star.

Britney arrived back at her Beverly Hills home shortly after noon to visit her children.
