Jennifer Lopez to be paid $6m for exclusive baby pictures

Jennifer LopezFirst there was the Six Million Dollar Man - now Jennifer Lopez is having the Six Million Dollar Babies.

The superstar singer and actress is expected to give birth to twins any day now, her first children with husband Marc Anthony.

Now industry insiders claim J-Lo is ready to sign on to get an astonishing $6 MILLION pay-day for exclusive pictures of the family.

The pay-out, said to be between Lopez and People magazine, would set an industry record. And ironically it would also be more than what her flop movie Gigli made in the box office.

Ad Age in the U.S. quoted "people familiar with the negotiations" in reporting the record-breaking media deal.

The magazine insisted People magazine "is poised to pay Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony between $4 million and $6 million for exclusive U.S. rights to the first photos of their expected twins".

The deal would take a new trend of baby pictures - with Christina Aguilera the latest star to pose with her children, again with People magazine - to a new extreme.

Ad Age's Nat Ives said: "Graydon Carter was once famously accused of putting Paris Hilton on Vanity Fair's cover because she represented 'newsstand crack'. "Now we see the next generation: newsstand crack babies."

There are plenty of other babies that magazines will still be bidding for: other pregnant stars include Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lynn Spears - and not to mention Angelina Jolie, rumoured to be pregnant with twins.

Lopez's spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnick said she had heard inquiries, but declined to say more.

Simon Fields, Lopez's production partner at Nuyorican Productions, said no deal was done. Asked whether one would be, he said: "I don't know."

Fran DeFeo, a spokesman for Marc Anthony, did not respond to messages.

People magazine's managing editor Larry Hackett said: "I have no comment on these particular pictures."

However, he admitted: "Readers have to know that when there's a huge picture, a baby, a wedding, some life moment, People magazine is the place that you're going to find that.

"You have to reinforce that all the time. There's a business to be made in the short term and there's a business to be made in the long term."
