Etta James thrilled that Beyonce will play her on-screen

Etta JamesBlues legend Etta James yesterday said she was thrilled that Beyonce will play her on-screen - and promised to help her prepare.

Beyonce will play Etta in Cadillac Records, a movie about Chess Record label starring Adrien Brody as record boss Chess and Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters.

Etta said she was thrilled to have the 'Bootylicious' star playing her and will advise her herself. "It's a privilege and an honor to have somebody like that girl," Etta gushed. "I don't think she looks like me, but that's all right. They can fix that up."

Etta also made it clear that Beyonce will have a lot of work getting ready for the role - reaching way beyond her own good girl image. "Oh my god, she's going to have a hill to climb, because Etta James ain't been no angel!" Etta said.

The 1950's period film is about the seminal Chicago record label Chess Records and its founder, Leonard Chess, who started out selling albums out of his Cadillac.

Etta, Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and Chuck Berry are among the legends who recorded on Chess.
