Britney Spears still barred from seeing her kids

Britney SpearsPop wreck Britney Spears is still barred from seeing her kids, despite ex Kevin Federline agreeing to let her have visitation rights restored.

The Toxic singer is currently banned from having any physical contact with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

The court ruling was issued after a standoff at Britney's home last month when she held her sons hostage in her own home. But both Britney and K-Fed's lawyers were back in court today (TUES) to resolve the custody issues.

K-Fed was willing to let Britney see the kids again in a controlled environment - as long as both her parents Jamie and Lynne or a court appointed monitor was present He had the backing of Jamie Spears, who has also been made conservator of Britney's estate following her recent hospitalization.

But as none of the lawyers could agree on where or when Britney could see the children, LA Court Commissioner Scott Gordon has ruled there will be no change in the custody order - for now.

The lawyers have now gone away to try and agree amongst themselves - and are currently chatting away over lunch in the LA Superior Court canteen.

Jamie Spears was in court to support K-Fed and tell the judge how Britney is slowly getting her life back on track but how she still needs help.

There is talk of the Toxic singer entering a private facility of some kind, following on from her recent hospital stay.

And K-Fed's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan is believed to have told the judge that he is happy for their sons to visit her in a place like that too but there is still no news on whether or not Britney will check in anywhere.

A source said: "K-Fed has no problem allowing the kids to visit Brit at her home, with one string attached - that Brit's parents are present during the visits.

"K-Fed isn't worried that anything bad would happen to the kids, his biggest concern is that Britney might drive with them, but Jamie would be there to put the kibosh on that.

"K-Fed doesn't want custody 100% of the time - it's just too much but he'd like Britney to share custody or at least visitation."

One thing that was ruled on in court - Britney has a new lawyer.

Her attorneys from the firm Trope & Trope have been taken off the case and now legal powerhouse Stacy Phillips has stepped in.

Phillips, who previously represented singer Bobby Brown in his divorce from Whitney Houston, becomes Britney's official legal rep with the blessing of dad Jamie Spears.
