Amy Winehouse wants a quad bike race with Ozzy Osbourne

Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse's big brother, Alex, has revealed his troubled sister wants a quad bike race with Ozzy Osbourne.

Amy - who recently checked out of rehab, is planning to stay with the former 'Black Sabbath' rocker - who infamously ended up in a coma after crashing his quad bike in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire mansion in 2003, later this month.

Alex, 27, said: "She [Amy] told me she was planning to go quad biking with the Osbournes at some point, which was cool, until I remembered that this particular pursuit nearly killed Ozzy.

"Still, it makes a change to have a trivial concern," he tells Britain's Daily Record newspaper.

Writer Alex also revealed his family's joy that the 'Back to Black' star, 24, is finally managing to get her life back on track. "Amy was still struggling to conquer her demons," he said. "Clearly, in the wake of a hit from the old crack pipe, it was hard to take in that the barely communicative shell in front of us was my own flesh and blood.

"We all knew how bad her condition was. There was never any denial on the part of my parents, whose fears and anxiety had made them both ill.

"Dad was on the verge of a breakdown and, well, mum was mum, stuck on the outside but one can only guess at the torment that was going on within."

But the family's despair turned to joy when Amy - famous for the lyrics "They tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no," finally checked into a private London rehab clinic and got herself off crack. And Alex, Mitch and Janis were on hand to watch her Grammy performance on Sunday.

"I got my sister back and I had a front row seat to see her kick ass and take over the world," said Alex. "It was the greatest night our family has enjoyed in a long, long time.

"Sitting there watching her was like watching a triumphant ending of a biopic. For the first time in God only knows how long, my parents were truly happy and Amy was too.

"We hugged and kissed and suddenly the world melted away. We were alone, a loving family that has suffered so much and - we deeply wish - come out the other side."
