Larry Birkhead has left a heartfelt message to ex-girlfriend Anna Nicole Smith - on the first anniversary of her death. The photographer, who is the father of the former model's daughter Dannielynn, posted a tribute on his website asking Anna Nicole to watch over them.
"Anna Nicole Smith I love you and hope you are proud of our beautiful baby girl," the message reads.
"Please watch over us and guide us on our journey through life. We Miss you."
The note, written on a hot pink background with a black and white picture of Anna Nicole, is signed" "Love Larry and Dannielynn".
It is the first time the snapper has updated his website since November - when the ex-glamour model would have turned 40.
Birkhead, 35, took his 17-month-old daughter to the Bahamas this week to visit her mother's grave.
Anna Nicole died in Florida on February 8 last year, from an accidental overdose of prescription medication.
Birkhead won custody of Dannielynn two months later after paternity tests confirmed that he - and not lawyer Howard K. Stern - was her biological father.
The pair now live in Anna Nicole's home in Studio City, California, which was among the assets listed in the reality TV star's will.
Stern has filed a petition at court to have the baby girl named Anna Nicole's sole heir.
The model wrote her will five years before Dannielynn was born - meaning her late son Daniel, who died in September 2006, was her sole beneficiary.
