Hanna Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, which debuted in theaters this weekend as the number one film with a three-day total of $29 million, will now play extended engagements, it has was announced today. The movie, starring Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Kenny Ortega and the 15-year-old teen sensation's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, was originally scheduled to run for one week only, but Mark Zoradi, president of the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, decided to lengthen the run given its popularity.
"Audience reaction for the Disney Digital 3-D presentation of 'Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert' has been so overwhelming that we've decided to extend the film's theatrical run," Zoradi told Entertainment Tonight.
"The extra playing time will give more fans a chance to see their favorite performer in an exciting new way that brings the concert experience to life on the big screen.
"It will also accommodate those fans who want to come and enjoy the experience again. Miley is clearly one of today's most exciting, talented and charismatic performers, and we're delighted that her fans are having such a great time with this entertaining and innovative 3-D adventure."
