Britney Spears’ pal Sam Lutfi questioned by the LAPD

BritneyBritney Spears' pal and sometimes manager Sam Lutfi was questioned yesterday by the LAPD about an alleged burglary that took place at the troubled star's Beverly Hills home, a source has claimed.

The Toxic singer's parents Jamie and Lynn Spears arrived at Brit's house on Friday night and discovered several "valuable possessions" were missing and called the police immediately. Sam was voluntarily questioned by the cops, but sources insist Lutfi "isn't a suspect."

Officer Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department could neither confirm nor deny that Sam was questioned in the investigation. However LAPD sources say, "no one has been ruled out as a suspect, and this is an ongoing investigation."

Insiders at Los Angeles' UCLA Medical Center tell PageSix.com that, "Britney has had no contact with Sam since her dad became her conservator on Friday."

UCLA insiders also say: "Britney is doing as well as can be expected. There is major relief from her family that she is finally getting the treatment she so desperately needs, and they will stop at nothing to protect her and make sure she continues to receive medical care."

Britney's parents was granted temporary conservatorship over their troubled daughter in an emergency court hearing Friday.

Commissioner Reva Goetz stated that she found Jamie's petition to be in Britney's "best interest."

Jamie has the power to restrict any visitors to the singer. He is also in charge of arranging 24-hour caretakers for her, as well as security.

The judge also gave Jamie the power to cut off all of the singer’s credit cards, in addition to securing her residence, changing its locks, and vacating any persons living there.

Spears' hospitalization, meanwhile, has been extended to an additional 14-day hold, a source close to the singer has confirmed.
