The brand new series of Lost kicked off in explosive fashion on US TV.
After being stranded on a mysterious island for four months, the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 opened last night's episode expecting to be rescued, having made contact with the outside world.
The new series, now in it's fourth season, picked up straight from the end of the third season, with none of the usual flashbacks.
Jack, played by Matthew Fox spends the episode, rejoicing in the fact that the group are about to be rescued.
However, Locke (Terry O'Quinn) and Ben (Michael Emerson) don't share the same enthusiasm as Jack, and believe that the rescuers aren't coming.
A critical and popular success, Lost averages around 16 million viewers per episode on US channel ABC, and has won numerous awards.
The show premiered on September 22, 2004, with an expensive pilot episode, costing approximately $10-14 million dollars.
