Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were set to come face-to-face with Jennifer Aniston at a pre-Oscars party at the Beverly Hills hotel this weekend, one of the most anticipated Hollywood moments of 2008 - but it didn't happen. Since splitting three years ago, Brad and Jen have been at pains to keep apart, with Aniston particularly wary of bumping into Angelina. But amazingly the trio were listed as hosts for the pre-Oscar party called 'The Night Before'.
The invitation for the poolside party read: "A night for Unity, Taking Care of Our Own."
Insiders feared the meeting could lead to a divide in guests - almost like at a school disco.
However, according to respected gossip column Page Six, the meeting didn't happen - as Angelina and Brad decided to attend the Independent Spirit awards instead. 'Friends' actress Jennifer was in attendance at the star-studded bash, which benefited the Motion Picture Television Fund, and was also attended by A-listers George Clooney, without girlfriend Sara Larson, Seal and Heidi Klum, and Jake Gyllenhaal. But then Jen, 39, left after barely an hour and headed back to a private bungalow at the hotel.
