Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was reportedly rushed to hospital and put on a drip as she fights her vicious drug addiction, it was confirmed last night. The 'Rehab' singer, 24, was left dangerously dehydrated as her drugs ravaged body comes to terms with Amy's substance withdrawal.
The bee-hived songstress was smuggled into a private London Clinic on Wednesday evening under a pseudonym.
The Harley Street clinic is around the corner from Capio Nightingale hospital, where she is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment.
A source close to the London Clinic said yesterday: "Amy was looking very pale and thin.
"She looked ropey and exhausted. Let’s hope she hasn’t taken a turn for the worse."
Amy's dad, 57-year-old taxi driver Mitch, has already told how his daughter is is suffering "horrific" withdrawal symptoms.
Yesterday he said: "Amy is OK. She is making progress but will be in rehab for a long time."
A medical expert said last night: "Going on a drip is a sign that things have got pretty bad.
"Crack is notoriously difficult to get off."
Amy was admitted into rehab last Thursday, after a shocking video showing her smoking crack cocaine was published by a British tabloid.
She is due to perform at the Grammy Awards later this month, but Mitch isn't so keen on the idea. "I'm not sure the Grammys are going to happen," he said. "I don't want her to go - I think it might be a bit too soon for her.
"She's not well - that's why she's in rehab. But she's doing OK. She is getting good treatment."
Amy has been nominated for awards in six categories this year and was using the prestigious ceremony in LA as a target for getting out of rehab.
