Sylvester Stallone set to play Rocky Balboa again?

Sylvester StalloneSylvester Stallone could be back in the ring as Rocky Balboa again, more than 30 years after the series' first film.

The aging action hero has signed up to star in two new high-octane films, as his career comeback continues to emulate the tales of his onscreen boxer.

Stallone, 61, stunned the movie world when new installments in his Rocky and First Blood series, each more than 15 years after their previous chapters, became box office hits.

It had come on the back of a series of flops, including TV disappointment The Contender and a role in the Spy Kids children's series.

Now, just days after the successful release of new First Blood flick Rambo in US cinemas, Sly's career has been given another lease of life.

The actor has just signed up to direct and star in two action films with the team that made the current box office hit, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Although it is unclear what the films will be, the website says several scripts are being considered for new Rocky and First Blood films.
Stallone said working in the recent films has been a "high point for me and my career and an extremely rewarding experience."
