Miley Cyrus beats Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria at the box office

Miley CyrusTeen sensation Miley Cyrus proved she's worth her salt this weekend - by beating Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria Parker at the weekend box office.

Despite opening on just 683 screens, the 15-year-old's concert flick Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour raked in $29 million, nabbing the No. 1 spot at the box office.

Jessica Alba's new movie, The Eye, which opened on four times as many screens, netted just $13 million.

Eva Longoria Parker’s film, Over Her Dead Body opened on less than 2,000 theaters, earning a measly $4.6 million.

"Miley is the hottest entertainer in America" says Us Weekly magazine's movie critic, Thelma Adams. "She’s got music, movie and TV appeal — she’s a triple threat!"

Miley's film was such a success, Mark Zoradi, president of the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, decided to extend the film's run given its popularity.

"Audience reaction for the Disney Digital 3-D presentation of 'Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert' has been so overwhelming that we've decided to extend the film's theatrical run," Zoradi told Entertainment Tonight.

"The extra playing time will give more fans a chance to see their favorite performer in an exciting new way that brings the concert experience to life on the big screen.

"It will also accommodate those fans who want to come and enjoy the experience again. Miley is clearly one of today's most exciting, talented and charismatic performers, and we're delighted that her fans are having such a great time with this entertaining and innovative 3-D adventure."
