Marion Cotillard nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of dith Piaf

Marion CotillardBAFTA winning actress Marion Cotillard proves that it's not just her acting talent she should be proud of.

The French star, 32, scooped the award for Best Actress at the BAFTA's over the weekend and has also been nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of singer dith Piaf in the movie La Vie En Rose - which means The Life of the Rose, in English.

But in some French movies from her past Cotillard shows she has no problem with nudity by appearing in the buff.

Moviegoers worldwide saw the beauty bury her looks under make-up and a wig to play Piaf. But in the hit film, Pretty Things, she strips down to nothing, as she has sex with a man who has also bedded her character's twin sister. In one scene Cotillard's dressing gown is ripped open, revealing her naked body as her co-star, also nude, begins to make love to her on screen.

In the realistic series of close-up shots you also see the actors perform in the missionary position, with the camera zooming in on their hips and revealing wisps of her pubic hair. After making love, the characters lie in bed before Cotillard's co-star leans in and puts her boob in his mouth - more than once.

The actress plays both sisters in this movie - Lucie and Marie, who have a love-hate relationship.

Early in the film you see her dressed in PVC underwear, donning a bobbed wig and dancing with two men, as the glamour girl Lucie.

In Furia - a movie set in a fictional country in the future - the La Vie En Rose star appears in a series of passionate scenes.

Cotillard plays Elia who has a doomed love affair with Theo, played by French actor Stanilas Merhar.

Although the couple live in a time of repression where self-expression is forbidden, they find each other and make a powerful connection.

That includes one scene where Cotillard, then 23, and Merhar simulate sex in the nude with the actor caressing his co-star's breasts. The camera draws into a close-up shot as the couple's bodies are tangled together, showing a boob here, sweaty limbs there.

Love Me if You Dare is a romantic modern fairytale about a couple who meet as children and play a game of dare throughout their lives.

The film isn't as raunchy but once again the actress gets her clothes off in a love scene with her on-screen husband.

Marion, who followed her dad into the profession, says about her job: "I don't think you learn how to act. "You learn how to use your emotions and feelings, and my first teacher was my mother [Niseema Theillaud] and then I worked with my father [Jean-Claude Cotillard], who helped me to find in myself all those emotions and how to play with the emotions."

The Academy Awards will take place on February 24.
