Brad Renfro died from an overdose of heroin that he injected into his body, the LA County coroner has said. The coroner concluded that the death was accidental.
The actor – best-known for starring in 1994's thriller The Client – was found dead January 15 at the age of 25.
Before his death, Brad had just finished filming, 'The Informers' opposite a host of stars including Micky Rourke, Billy Bon Thornton, Winnona Ryder and Kim Basinger.
Renfro had a history of drug abuse and had been convicted of several drug offenses, including attempted heroin possession.
Before his death, Renfro had been 'working valiantly' to stay clean.
His recent credits included well-regarded performances in 'Ghost World' and 'Bully' both in 2001.
